Notarial Services: Embassy of United States Buenos Aires – Argentina

Notarial Services in Buenos Aires, Argentina

Consular Officers provide a service similar to the functions of a notary public in the United States. Notarial services are available to all U.S. citizens and foreign nationals with documents for use in the United States.

Appointments:
Notary services are offered by appointment only Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 2:30 pm. If you have multiple documents to be notarized, you only require one appointment for that day. There is no fee to make an appointment, but while at the Embassy, you will need to pay a $50 USD fee for each notarial service.

On the day of your appointment, please arrive 15 minutes early for screening and bring:
• The unsigned documents to be notarized;
• A valid government-issued ID that includes your signature and was issued within the past 5 years.  A driver’s license, passport, DNI or cédula de identidad are acceptable, a student ID is not;
• A form of payment (U.S. dollars, Argentine pesos, or a credit card).
If your notary service requires a witness, you must arrange for your own witnesses. Consular Officers and staff may not serve as witnesses.

Allowable Documents
The following documents can be notarized at the U.S. Embassy byappointment:
• Real estate documents
• Affidavits
• Powers of attorney
