What an Apostille Is and Why You Need It

An apostille is the official certificate that makes an Argentine public document valid in another country. Argentina issues it under the Hague Apostille Convention, which the U.S., Canada and most of Europe have signed. It certifies the signature and seal on your document, not its content. If the country where you’ll use it hasn’t signed the convention, the document needs a consular legalization instead, and we handle that too. If you don’t have the certificate yet, we can get it for you through our Argentina vital records service.

Using Argentine Documents in the U.S.

USCIS, U.S. consulates and courts often ask for apostilled Argentine documents: for green cards and family petitions, for work and investor visas (H-1B, L-1, O-1, E-2), or to answer a Request for Evidence (RFE). Universities and credential evaluators such as WES and ECFMG ask for apostilled diplomas. We get your documents ready for the office that will receive them.

A Real Law Firm, Not a Faceless Website

Most apostille websites in Argentina are anonymous. We’re a law firm with a name and a face: we get apostilles every week for our own clients’ probate, immigration and citizenship cases, and we opened the service to everyone. When you send us a request, attorney Elias Kier Joffe and his team are behind it.

We Check Your Document Before We Start

Most rejections happen because a signature can’t be apostilled yet or the document needs a prior legalization. Before we file, we check the format, the signatures and the date of issue, and we tell you upfront if anything is missing.

Digital Apostille, Translation and Delivery

Argentina issues apostilles digitally, as a PDF with verification data you can check on the Argentine government’s official website. We send it to you by email, add a certified translation into English if you need one, and can ship the original by international courier.

One Point of Contact for Legal, Tax and Notarial Matters

We are a one-stop legal solution. Our team includes lawyers, accountants, Argentine notaries (escribanos) and certified translators, all under one roof and coordinated by attorney Elias Kier Joffe. When needed, we also work directly with your own lawyers back home, for example on your citizenship application or the estate you’re settling.

Documents we apostille:

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How do I get an apostille on an Argentine document from abroad?

Fill out the request form on this page. We check your document, get the apostille from the right Argentine authority and send it to you by email or courier. You don’t need to travel or be in Argentina.

Is a digital Argentine apostille valid in the U.S.?

Yes. Argentina issues apostilles digitally under the Hague Apostille Convention, which the U.S. has signed, and each one can be verified on the Argentine government’s official website. If the office receiving it asks for a paper original, we tell you the options upfront.

What if my document is old or on paper?

Old paper documents may need their signatures verified or legalized before the apostille. Often it’s easier and faster to get a new certified copy that’s ready for the apostille, and we can do that for you. We check your document and tell you the best route.

How much does an Argentina apostille cost?

It depends mainly on the type of document and how many you need. A recent digital document is usually the simplest; an old paper certificate, or a diploma that needs a prior legalization, takes more work. The price also depends on whether we have to get the document first, whether you need a certified translation, and on the delivery. Fill out the form and we reply within 24 hours with a written quote.

Does an apostille expire?

The apostille itself doesn’t expire, but the office receiving it may only accept recent documents. Criminal records, for example, often must be issued in the last 90 or 180 days. Tell us where you’ll use your document and we tell you what that office asks for.

How can I check that my apostille is valid?

Each Argentine apostille includes verification data you can enter on the Argentine government’s official website to confirm it’s authentic. Before you present it, check that the name, the issuing authority and the date match your document.
