English-Speaking Attorneys for Your Argentine Single Status Certificate

Why You Need a Single Status Certificate

To get married abroad, many countries ask Argentines for proof that they’re free to marry: a single status certificate (certificado de soltería or de inexistencia de matrimonio) from the civil registry, with the Hague apostille. It’s one of the documents we handle as part of our Argentina apostille service.

A Real Law Firm, Not a Faceless Website

Most apostille websites in Argentina are anonymous. We’re a law firm with a name and a face: we get apostilles every week for our own clients’ probate, immigration and citizenship cases, and we opened the service to everyone. When you send us a request, attorney Elias Kier Joffe and his team are behind it.

Issued Recently, Ready to Use

Most countries only accept a recently issued certificate, so timing matters. We request it from the right civil registry, check its signature and get the apostille, so it reaches you ready to present.

Translation and Delivery

If the office abroad needs it in another language, we add a certified translation. You get it by email as a digital PDF, or the original by international courier.

One Point of Contact for Legal, Tax and Notarial Matters

We are a one-stop legal solution. Our team includes lawyers, accountants, Argentine notaries (escribanos) and certified translators, all under one roof and coordinated by attorney Elias Kier Joffe. When needed, we also work directly with your own lawyers back home, for example on your citizenship application or the estate you’re settling.

What we handle:

✓ Single status certificates (certificado de soltería).

✓ Certificates of no record of marriage (inexistencia de matrimonio).

✓ Apostille for use in any Hague Convention country.

✓ Certified translations into English and other languages.

✓ Birth certificates with apostille for the same application.

✓ Proof of divorce or widowhood if you were married before.

✓ Digital delivery by email, or the original by international courier.

✓ Our own lawyers, accountants, notaries and certified translators, working with your advisors back home when needed.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is an Argentine single status certificate?

It’s a certificate from the civil registry showing that there’s no marriage recorded in your name in Argentina. Countries abroad ask for it before you get married there, usually with the Hague apostille and sometimes a translation.

How recent does it need to be?

It depends on the country and the office, but many only accept a certificate issued in the last few months. Tell us where you’ll get married and we tell you what that office asks for.

Can you get it if I live abroad?

Yes. We request it from the civil registry in Argentina and send it to you with the apostille. Tell us in the form your full name and, in the comments, your ID number and the province where you were born.

How much does a single status certificate apostille cost?

It depends on the province, whether you need a certified translation, how many copies you need, and on the delivery. Fill out the form and we reply within 24 hours with a written quote.

I was married before. What do I need?

If you’re divorced or widowed, the office abroad usually asks for your marriage certificate with the divorce note, or your spouse’s death certificate, also with the apostille. We can get those for you too.

How can I check that my apostille is valid?

Each Argentine apostille includes verification data you can enter on the Argentine government’s official website to confirm it’s authentic. Before you present it, check that the name, the issuing authority and the date match your document.
