Why Inheritance in Argentina Is Different
Inheriting or owning assets in another country is stressful. The documents are in Spanish, the courts follow local rules, and Argentina has forced heirship: children and spouses are entitled to a protected share of the estate that a will can’t take away, except in very limited cases. A plan that works in your country may not work here, and a mistake can leave your family stuck in court for years.
Probate, Estate Planning and Wills Without Traveling
You don’t need to get on a plane. You sign a power of attorney where you live, in front of a local notary and with an apostille, and we take it from there. Whether we’re settling an estate, drafting a will or planning how your family will inherit, we handle every step in Argentina and keep you updated in English.
Selling Inherited Property and Sending the Money Abroad
Most families don’t want to keep property in Argentina. Once the court declares the heirs, we can sell the apartment, house or land with your power of attorney, pay the taxes and send the money to your account in the U.S., Canada or Europe through proper legal channels.
Clear Costs, Timelines and Updates in English
No surprises. After a free 15-minute consultation, you get a written quote before you commit. We explain every step in plain English, tell you how long each stage usually takes and send you regular updates.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to travel to Argentina to settle an estate?
No. You sign a power of attorney where you live, in front of a local notary and with an apostille, and we handle the rest anywhere in Argentina. Some clients like to visit, but it’s never required.
Can I leave my property in Argentina to anyone I want?
Not completely. Argentina has forced heirship: children, spouses and, in some cases, parents are entitled to a protected share of the estate. Which rules apply depends on where you lived and the type of asset, so we review your situation before you sign a will.
Is a will signed abroad valid in Argentina?
In many cases, yes, if it was signed with the formalities required where it was made. It still has to be probated in an Argentine court, with an apostille and a certified translation. We review your will and tell you whether it will work here.
How long does probate take in Argentina?
It depends on how many heirs there are, whether they agree, the assets involved and the court. After the free consultation, we give you a realistic timeline in writing, and we keep you updated at every stage.
How much does an estate lawyer cost in Argentina?
It depends on the assets, the number of heirs and the work involved. After a free 15-minute consultation, we send you a written quote. Court fees, notary fees and taxes are separate, and we explain them to you in advance.
