Why Notarial Documents Need an Apostille
A power of attorney, a travel permit for a minor or any document signed before an Argentine notary (escribano) needs the Hague apostille to be valid in another country. It’s one of the documents we handle as part of our Argentina apostille service.
A Real Law Firm, Not a Faceless Website
Most apostille websites in Argentina are anonymous. We’re a law firm with a name and a face: we get apostilles every week for our own clients’ probate, immigration and citizenship cases, and we opened the service to everyone. When you send us a request, attorney Elias Kier Joffe and his team are behind it.
The Notaries’ Association Comes First
Argentine notarial documents go through the Notaries’ Association (Colegio de Escribanos) of the province where they were signed, which in many cases also issues the apostille. We handle the whole chain and keep every page of the document intact, including the legalization page.
We Can Draft the Document Too
Need a power of attorney or a travel permit and don’t have one yet? Our in-house notaries in Buenos Aires can prepare it, and we deliver it with the apostille and a certified translation if you need one.
One Point of Contact for Legal, Tax and Notarial Matters
We are a one-stop legal solution. Our team includes lawyers, accountants, Argentine notaries (escribanos) and certified translators, all under one roof and coordinated by attorney Elias Kier Joffe. When needed, we also work directly with your own lawyers back home, for example on your citizenship application or the estate you’re settling.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Do Argentine notarial documents need a legalization before the apostille?
Yes. They go through the Notaries’ Association of the province where they were signed, which in many cases also issues the apostille. We handle the whole chain for you.
Can you apostille a travel permit for a minor?
Yes. Travel permits signed before an Argentine notary can be apostilled for use abroad. All the pages, including the legalization page, must stay together, and we check them before filing.
Is an apostilled Argentine power of attorney valid in the U.S.?
Yes. The U.S. has signed the Hague Apostille Convention, so U.S. banks, courts and agencies accept Argentine apostilles. They may also ask for a certified translation into English, which we can include.
How much does a power of attorney apostille cost?
It depends on the type of document, the province where it was signed, how many pages and copies there are, whether you need a certified translation, and on the delivery. Fill out the form and we reply within 24 hours with a written quote.
I need to sign a power of attorney abroad to use in Argentina. Can you help?
Yes, but that works the other way around: you sign it before a notary where you live and get the apostille in that country. Our notary team drafts it so it’s accepted in Argentina.
How can I check that my apostille is valid?
Each Argentine apostille includes verification data you can enter on the Argentine government’s official website to confirm it’s authentic. Before you present it, check that the name, the issuing authority and the date match your document.
