Why Your Criminal Record Needs an Apostille

Consulates, immigration offices and employers abroad ask for an Argentine criminal record certificate (certificado de antecedentes penales) issued by the National Criminal Records Registry (Registro Nacional de Reincidencia). To be accepted in another country, it needs the Hague apostille. It’s one of the documents we handle as part of our Argentina apostille service.

A Real Law Firm, Not a Faceless Website

Most apostille websites in Argentina are anonymous. We’re a law firm with a name and a face: we get apostilles every week for our own clients’ probate, immigration and citizenship cases, and we opened the service to everyone. When you send us a request, attorney Elias Kier Joffe and his team are behind it.

What We Need From You

The original digital certificate in PDF, with its barcode, security code and digital signature intact. If you don’t have it yet, tell us in the form and we explain how to get it or request it for you. Most offices abroad want a recent certificate, so it’s best to issue it shortly before you apply.

Timing Matters With Criminal Records

Many consulates and immigration offices only accept a criminal record issued in the last 90 or 180 days. We get the apostille quickly so your certificate doesn’t expire before your appointment, and add a certified translation into English if you need one.

One Point of Contact for Legal, Tax and Notarial Matters

We are a one-stop legal solution. Our team includes lawyers, accountants, Argentine notaries (escribanos) and certified translators, all under one roof and coordinated by attorney Elias Kier Joffe. When needed, we also work directly with your own lawyers back home, for example on your citizenship application or the estate you’re settling.

What we handle:

✓ Apostille of your Argentine criminal record certificate.

✓ Requesting a new certificate if you don’t have one.

✓ Checking the digital signature before we file.

✓ Certified translation into English or other languages.

✓ Delivery by email as a digital PDF.

✓ Documents for visas, residency and citizenship applications abroad.

✓ Other Argentine documents you may need for the same application.

✓ Our own lawyers, accountants, notaries and certified translators, working with your advisors back home when needed.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How do I get an Argentine criminal record certificate from abroad?

If you have an Argentine ID (DNI), the certificate can often be requested online, and it can also be requested through an Argentine consulate. If you don’t have it yet, tell us in the form and we explain the fastest route for your case and handle what we can for you.

Is the apostilled criminal record valid in the U.S.?

Yes. The U.S. has signed the Hague Apostille Convention, so USCIS, U.S. consulates and employers accept Argentine apostilles. They may also ask for a certified translation into English, which we can include.

How long is the certificate valid?

The apostille itself doesn’t expire, but the office receiving it usually wants a recent certificate, often issued in the last 90 or 180 days. Tell us where you’ll use it and we tell you what that office asks for.

How much does a criminal record apostille cost?

It depends on whether you already have the certificate or we request it for you, how many copies you need, whether you need a certified translation, and on the delivery. Fill out the form and we reply within 24 hours with a written quote.

Can I use the PDF from the Mi Argentina app?

Usually, yes, as long as it’s the original digital file with its signature and codes intact. A screenshot or a printed copy won’t work. Upload it in the form and we check it before filing.

How can I check that my apostille is valid?

Each Argentine apostille includes verification data you can enter on the Argentine government’s official website to confirm it’s authentic. Before you present it, check that the name, the issuing authority and the date match your document.
