Argentina Golden Visa 2026: Start Your Citizenship by Investment Application with Kier Joffe
Argentina has announced two routes to citizenship by investment: a USD 350,000 non-refundable contribution to the National Treasury or a USD 800,000 investment in a government bond created for the program.
Kier Joffe is now accepting clients for application preparation. We will help prepare your documentation and source-of-funds file so that your application is ready for submission as soon as the program opens and the final filing requirements are available.
Applications are expected to open during the fourth quarter of 2026. Starting your legal work now gives us time to gather records, resolve documentation issues and organize your file before submissions begin.
What is the Argentina Golden Visa?
Often called the Argentina Golden Visa or golden passport, this is a citizenship-by-investment program. Successful applicants obtain Argentine citizenship through naturalization.
The legal framework already exists. DNU 366/2025 amended Citizenship Law No. 346 to provide a naturalization route for foreigners who make a relevant investment, regardless of the duration of their residence. It also created the Agency for Citizenship by Investment Programs under the Ministry of Economy.
Decree 524/2025 established the general application and review procedure. The Agency evaluates applications and recommends approval or rejection to the National Migration Directorate, which makes the final decision. Its 30-business-day decision period starts when it receives the Agency’s report; it is not a deadline for the entire application process.
Two announced investment routes
For the principal applicant, the government has announced:
Treasury contribution: USD 350,000
A direct, non-refundable contribution to the National Treasury.
Government bond: USD 800,000
Subscription to a public bond created specifically for the program. A seven-year holding period has been reported; the final bond terms require confirmation.
These are the announced program amounts. They should be distinguished from legal fees and any additional processing charges established for the application.
Including your family
The announced family contributions are USD 100,000 for a spouse, USD 100,000 for each child aged 18–25 who is unmarried and has no children, and USD 25,000 for each child under 18.
Under the contribution route, a principal applicant, spouse and two minor children would contribute USD 500,000 in total.
We will review your family’s circumstances and organize the records establishing the relevant relationships.
What operational details remain?
The government has announced the investment routes and amounts. The next step is their regulatory and operational implementation: instructions for making the Treasury contribution or subscribing to the bond, the final bond conditions, and the application channel, document checklist and any processing fees.
We will incorporate those instructions into your file when they are issued. Preparation can begin now; submission and payment will follow the authorized procedure once it is available.
Preparing your documentation with Kier Joffe
We will help prepare your documentation to be ready to submit the application as soon as the program opens. Our work begins with your personal and family records and the evidence supporting the lawful origin of your funds.
Depending on your circumstances, the preparation file may include:
- Passports and identity records.
- Birth and marriage certificates establishing family relationships.
- Police clearance certificates and relevant background records.
- Bank statements, financial statements and supporting records explaining how your funds were earned or acquired.
- Apostilles, legalizations and certified Spanish translations, as applicable.
We will identify the records needed for your case, review them for consistency and coordinate the certification and translation work. Time-sensitive documents will be scheduled around the filing requirements so that they remain valid for submission. The official checklist will be incorporated once released.
Source of funds and due diligence
Applicants will undergo identity, financial and background checks. Funds must pass through the formal financial system and have a lawful, traceable origin.
We will organize the evidence connecting your funds to their source, such as business income, investment proceeds, a property sale or an inheritance, according to your circumstances. A coherent file makes your financial history easier for the authorities to review.
Meeting the investment amount is one part of the application. Citizenship also depends on completing the required review and receiving approval from the National Migration Directorate.
